Proven Leadership
I
am very pleased to announce my intention to run for the
office of City Council member for Union City in the November
2004 election.
As
a Trustee for New Haven Unified School District for the
past eight years, I have proven my leadership abilities
by working with others to maintain standards of academic
excellence and fiscal responsibility during a period of
extreme economic challenge. I chaired a $35 million bond
campaign, helped establish a program to give students real-life
work experience, and was active in the movement to bring
technology to Union City schools.
As
your Council Member, I will be a team player who maintains
strong partnerships with businesses, civic entities, and
regional agencies to achieve maximum benefits for Union
City residents. I am committed to community safety, and
to the health and welfare of our residents. Sound economic
development programs will bring jobs and generate tax revenue.
I have strong personal and professional ethics, and encourage
residents to come forward with ideas to help shape Union
City into your ideal city.
I
have worked in the aerospace industry as a Principal Engineer
for Computer Sciences Corporation for the past 25 years,
since completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral
Science at National Lois University in McLean, Virginia.
I am a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and I enjoy working with
many community organizations.
